At aida (developed by Hoye & Associates), we believe your writing and thoughts belong exclusively to you. We designed aida from the ground up with a strict commitment to local, offline-first privacy.
1. Zero Data Collection
aida does not collect, track, store, or transmit any personal data or document content. When you write, edit, or view documents in aida, your text, images, and metadata remain strictly on your device's local storage.
2. No Analytics or Telemetry
The application contains zero third-party analytics frameworks, zero telemetry SDKs, zero advertising trackers, and zero crash-reporting servers. We do not track:
- Your document text, file names, or folder structures
- Your typing activity, feature usage, or writing habits
- Your IP address, location, or hardware identifiers
3. Local File System & macOS Sandbox Security
aida operates inside Apple's macOS App Sandbox environment. The application only accesses files and directories on your Mac that you explicitly open, save, or select using macOS system file pickers or default directory controls.
4. Cloud Storage & Sync
aida uses standard plain-text .md files. If you choose to save your files in an iCloud Drive folder, Dropbox, OneDrive, or git repository, file synchronization is handled entirely by macOS or your chosen storage provider. aida itself operates no cloud servers or synchronization services.
5. Network Access & Entitlements
aida operates 100% offline. The application does not connect to external servers or send network requests during document editing, previewing, exporting, or printing.
